How many times have you ‘tried your best’ but something has gotten in the way? Or, let me rephrase it…How many times have you ‘tried your best’ but LET something get in the way.
As a coach we hear many different struggles from individuals week to week. These aren’t always clients but sometimes just gym goers in general too.
‘I worked late so I didn’t have time to go to the gym!’.
‘I hadn’t been food shopping so I just had a take away instead’.
‘I’ve had a shitty day and just needed a treat so I had some cake and I’ll get back on it at the start of the week’.
‘We went out for the day and there weren’t really any healthy options so I couldn’t stay on track’.
‘The girls were coming round and I didn’t want to seem unsociable so I had a few drinks and then a few more and then I had shit food the next day because I felt like crap’.
Now, (and you know how honest I am)…these may be struggles but they are also EXCUSES.
There are answers and solutions to ALL OF THE ABOVE, you could throw all the excuses in the world at me and I would find a solution for you each time. Because I truly believe that if your mindset is strong and you are on a path that means something to you then you will do everything in your power to make it happen.
I’m certainly no angel as I’ve said many times, but my mindset is strong, especially when I know I’m in the process to get something out of it. I’ve had shit days at work…so what?! I’ve still eaten my normal healthy tea when I’ve got home and then moaned to Kev about it. I’ve had days out with my family where there was literally nothing to eat that follows my plan…I’ve taken a packed lunch. I’ve had my friend over for girls night…but she supported me and I cooked what I was going to eat and she ate it with me anyway…we had a blast! And the food shopping…well it never not gets done because food is LIFE!
You need to take responsibility and stay strong. No matter what obstacles stand in your way, no matter what is served up to eat on your day out and no matter if you’ve had a shitty day or not. It’s not an excuse.
To expect change you need to make a change. And the biggest change starts from within.
- Stop blaming others/things that get in the way.
- Stop repeating the same routine/daily habits and expecting things to change.
- Start making an effort, not an excuse.
- Start changing your mindset.
- Start making good habits.
- Start being more positive, you will attract positivity in return.
It’s a sure thing.
Always remember…if nothing changes, then nothing changes.
If you are feeling like you are stop/start, not progressing or you’ve always got things popping up in your way then sit down and re evaluate. Take a look at things that you can change and bear in mind the tips I’ve laid out up above.
The solution is ALWAYS there, and it usually starts with Y O U 💪🏼.
