How long does it take to build a physique?

I often get people approach me asking me how to achieve a physique transformation and how long will it take.

Often my response surprises them when I tell them that it is very individual and unless they are already in decent shape and are regular weight lifters, then it will take months, not weeks!

Yes it can be achieved in 8-12 weeks but an individual will have to already have a pretty good start point have favourable genetics and perhaps most importantly have the mental toughness to be able to commit to every aspect of the programme throughout.

Often people aren’t prepared to give this level of dedication. When it comes to a physique transformation the difference between giving 80% commitment and 100% commitment is huge when it comes to the end result.

That 20% difference is putting social events and alcohol on hold (especially during the dieting phase) prepping meals for trips away, hitting macros and calories accurately every single day (including weekends) its performing every workout despite being tired, drained and low on energy. It’s being honest with your coach throughout.

When the finer margins count, It’s literally the difference between a 4 pack and a 6 pack.

Always remember “the level of result will always be determined by the level of committed given for the duration of a programme”

It is also worth mentioning that 99/100 people will also require a coach to help them achieve this. The right, support, coaching, educating and mentoring is crucial, and without the accountability those commitment percentages mentioned above will drop.

What is the longest period you have actually followed a training and nutrition plan specific to you and your goals, that is monitored every week?

Lifting weights for a few weeks, looking in the mirror and expecting to see big changes is unrealistic and will lead to frustration and yep you guessed it…..quitting.

I will finish on this. If you do have a strong desire to achieve a physique transformation and feel you can commit to every aspect of the programme then trust me when I say it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.

I know this from personal experience and from helping people achieve it themselves.
