In the run up to my holiday I wanted to strip back on some body fat to feel leaner in my bathing suit.

I also didnโ€™t want to cut out the foods that I enjoy.
ย 
I worked with my long-standing coach who created a calorie deficit that was adjusted accordingly throughout my programming.
ย 
This was my accountability.
ย 
I then had a protein target to hit each day.
ย 
I had a calorie allocation to stay inside of.
ย 
And I had programmed exercise throughout.
ย 
But NOTHING was off limits nutrition wise.
ย 
Donโ€™t get me wrong, I do much prefer meats, baked potatoes and veggies to KFC and crisps.
ย 
I LOVE to eat healthily.
ย 
I love to look after my body.
ย 
But Iโ€™m a human, every now and then I like a little bit of something something that I can indulge in.
ย 
So how did I do it?!
ย 
I did exactly the same as I advise my clients to do.
ย

Throughout the week I would prioritise a nutritious intake eating foods that would nourish me and fuel me day to day.

I did the same on the weekends.
ย 
BUTโ€ฆ
ย 
If I fancied a Maryland cookie, I would track it.
ย 
If I had an occasionโ€ฆI would make a mindful choice.
ย 
I hit the spot with the foods that I enjoyed and then I was back to the nutritious foods that would nourish me more so.
ย 
I was AWARE.
ย 
And I dropped half a stone.
ย 
Listen, you can lose fat on McDonaldโ€™s, itโ€™s been done in the past.
ย 
But will it nourish you the same way as a plate of chicken, potatoes and veggies will?
ย 
Will your body composition look better for it?
ย 
No of course not.
ย 
Thatโ€™s not to say that a McDonaldโ€™s will hurt though once in a while.
ย 
Itโ€™s the untracked, over consuming, over indulgence on a day to day basis that will prevent or stall fat loss.
ย 
Tracked, accounted for, or even just intuitively eating with awareness around portions and why you are consuming what you are doing is the trick to simultaneously enjoying yourself and making progress.
ย 
Fat loss doesnโ€™t have to be hard work.
ย 
It can in fact be very enjoyable.
ย
